Mao County, the largest settlement of the Qiang ethnic group in China

Pingtou Qiang Stockade in Mao County is located in Mao County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, and it is a national AAAA – level tourist scenic area. With an altitude of 1,688 meters, nearly 2,000 Qiang people live here, making it an excellent place to experience Qiang culture and natural scenery. The stockade has preserved ancient and unique traditional culture. The local folk customs are simple and the ethnic amorous feelings are rich. The rural scenery in all four seasons is breathtaking. It is a major town on the way from Jiuzhaigou to Siguniang Mountain by car. Here is the largest gathering place of indigenous Qiang people in China! I was fortunate to come to Pingtou Qiang Stockade within this short period of time to experience Qiang culture. Sheep totems can be seen everywhere, as well as various patterns with ethnic characteristics and traditional architectures.
