Kangding is the capital of Ganzi Prefecture. The altitude here isn’t so high as to make you gasp for breath, yet the faintly visible snow-capped mountains in the distance remind you that this is a city on the plateau at an altitude of over 2,000 meters.

For travelers, Kangding is a perfect base camp. Mugecuo, 26 kilometers away, lies quietly among the mountains like a pearl. Sidingcuo, 50 kilometers away, glistens with silver light in the sun, while Yuzixi, over 70 kilometers away, awaits the arrival of adventurers.

Travelers from all over the country gather here. I guess half of them are from Chengdu. After all, the nightlife here is quite similar to that in Chengdu. Both are so lively and intoxicating that they last until deep into the night. Whenever night falls, the melody of dance flows on the Love Song Square. People hold hands and dance heartily to the rhythm of the music, leaving all their troubles behind.

The surging Kangding River runs through the city. The sound of the gurgling water is like an endless movement, and the whole city is immersed in this lively melody.
