Luodai Ancient Town, full of Hakka customs

Chengdu Luodai is the first Hakka town in western China. Hakka culture is the unique imprint of Luodai and the soul and foundation of Luodai Ancient Town. Luodai Ancient Town is the most well preserved Hakka ancient town in the suburbs of Chengdu, and is known as the “number one Hakka town in the world”. The Luodai Scenic Area mainly includes three parts: the core protection area of Luodai Ancient Town, Jinlong Lake Scenic Area, and Baosheng Original Ecological Hakka Village. The millennium old street and Hakka houses in the ancient town are well preserved, and the old street presents a pattern of “one street and seven alleys” with rich spatial changes; Both sides of the street are lined with shops, belonging to the typical architectural style of the Ming and Qing dynasties. One Street “consists of upper and lower streets, with a width of about 8 meters and a length of about 1200 meters. It is high in the east and low in the west, with stone slabs embedded; The “Seven Alleys” crisscrossing on both sides of the street are Beixiang Lane, Fengyi Lane, Huaishu Lane, Jiangxi Huiguan Lane, Chaishi Lane, Machaoyan Lane, and Kuangshi Lane. The town is particularly famous for its national key cultural relics protection units, the Luodai Guild Hall (Guangdong Guild Hall, Jiangxi Guild Hall, Huguang Guild Hall, Chuanbei Guild Hall), as well as the Hakka Museum and Hakka Park. It is a unique gem in the ancient Chinese architecture “Daguan Garden”, with a total area of over 20000 square meters.
